After a 3rd place finish last year, veteran Musher Jessie Royer knows how to be a top contender.

The veteran praised her leaders for their efforts along a very snow drifted trail into Nome.
The veteran musher reached Nome in 3rd position with 11 dogs. This marks the best finish of her Iditarod career.
The veteran is third into White Mountain, but she isn’t feeling overly comfortable with her positioning.
Royer is happy to reach White Mountain, after crossing the hill country to get here.
The Insider crews caught up with the veteran in between Kaltag and Unalakleet while she was de-icing her sled.
The veteran musher was in Unalakleet for three minutes. She grabbed some supplies and headed toward Shaktoolik.
